Anil Kapoor in 24
Anil Kapoor has supposedly inked a Rs. 100-crore deal with 20th Century Fox to remake the hit US TV series, 24.

Anil Kapoor’s foray into television couldn’t have been better – the star has supposedly inked a Rs. 100-crore deal with Twentieth Century Fox to remake the hit US TV series, 24, in one season of which he also played a role. Anil made an appearance in the popular show as Middle Eastern leader Omar Hassan, who comes to the US on a peace-keeping mission. In the Indian TV series, the actor will, however, play the main protagonist, besides producing it. Keifer Sutherland played the lead role of Jack Bauer in the original.

Call it a coincidence or whatever but big brother Boney Kapoor also entered the TV arena in a big way a few months before Anil signed the deal with Fox in November 2011. Boney is heading Sahara and looking after the television channel from August last year. He will also head the film division of Sahara when the group chooses to go full throttle into movie production too. Probably, the youngest brother, Sanjay, could take a cue from his two elder brothers and try his hand at television.
