This isn’t good news for cine-goers and Kollywood actress Jyothika’s fans. Jyothika’s much-awaited courtroom drama Ponmagal Vandhal, which happens to be one of the biggest films of the year in the Tamil film industry was leaked yesterday online, a day before its original release on Amazon Prime Video by the infamous Tamil Rockers.
What’s more shocking is the leaked version of the Jyothika starrer is a full HD quality, unlike the other films which Tamil Rockers have leaked before. The very news of the film getting leaked was a shocker and indeed heartbreaking for the makers, cast, and the rest of the team.
As per a report from timesofindia.com, following Ponmagal Vandhal’s leak hours before its original release date and time, the makers and Amazon Prime Video came up with the decision to air Jyothika starrer before its original scheduled time that was 29th May midnight.

For those unversed, Tamil Rockers have the infamous reputation of leaking the films online on the same day of films’ release date and in some cases, like in this one a day before the film’s release. Tamil Rockers work using proxies and change the address of their sites every time and contribute a huge chunk in illegal piracy.
Despite numerous preventive measures by Government and filmmakers to stop piracy, nothing has worked in favour of the film industry, as one gets to hear about piracy now and then after every new release.
Following piracy, the business of films and all efforts & hard work by the makers, actors, and creative teams are always at risk.
Ponmagal Vandhal is the first Tamil Film to Premiere Worldwide directly on an OTT platform. The Jyothika starrer is a courtroom drama written and directed by J.J Fredric. The film is been bankrolled by Jyothika’s husband and Tamil star Suriya.
Ponmagal Vandhal also has R.Parthiban, K.Bhagyaraj, Thiagarajan, Pandiarajan and Pratap Pothen in key roles.
