Ayushmann Khurrana starrer AndhaDhun, last week hit on bull’s eye, as it went on to win not one, but three National Awards under Best Actor, Best Hindi film and Best Adapted Screenplay categories.
The film had set cash registers ringing at the box office after its release last year, and following which it went on to become one of the biggest hits in Bollywood in 2018.
Post declaration of National Awards, there have been producers lining up from South film industries for the remake rights from the Hindi makers.
There were rumours about South star Dhanush leading the race to play the lead in the Tamil remake, but now as per reports, it won’t be Dhanush, instead, it will be Tamil actor Prashanth who will be stepping in Ayushmann’s shoes.
According to reports from Indian Express, Prashanth’s dad and film producer Thiagarajan has achieved the right of the film from Viacom18.
However, a suitable title and remaining cast of the film is yet to be unveiled.
Apart from Ayushmaan, ‘AndhaDhun‘, also had Veteran actress Tabu in the lead role along with Radhika Apte in an important role.
The Ayushmaan starrer was directed by Sriram Raghavan and was produced by Viacom 18 motion pictures.
