When Keanu Reeves Was Asked To Make Winona Ryder Cry As Even Director’s “You Whore” Comment Failed

Back in the days, Keanu Reeves & Winona Ryder’s on-screen chemistry was among the best, and surely most-adored by their fans. Honestly, if you ask us, they could have been a thing today. Lately, there’s an incident which is going viral on the internet. The incident traces down to Dracula’s shoot which starred the John Wick actor and Stranger Things’ actress.

As revealed by Winona Ryder herself, one incident sparked a strong friendship between her and Keanu Reeves.

Talking to The Sunday Times (via The Independent), Winona shared a funny incident from the sets of Keanu Reeves starrer Dracula back in 1992 and revealed about a scene where she was supposed to cry during a scene but couldn’t.

Ryder revealed that director Francis Ford Coppola thought that he might be able to make her cry by insulting her and shouted at her and said, “You, whore!” He thought he might be able to offend her but it didn’t work at all. In fact, Coppola asked all the other male unit members to join him and insult her so, that she could give it her best shot. Adding to the same, Winona Ryder revealed that Keanu Reeves rejected and didn’t insult her at all

She said, “To put it in context I’m supposed to be crying. Literally, Richard E. Grant, Anthony Hopkins, Keanu Reeves…Francis was trying to get all of them to yell things that would make me cry. But Keanu wouldn’t, Anthony wouldn’t. It just didn’t work. I was, like, really? It kind of did the opposite.”

Well, that just how Keanu Reeves is. He’s kind and the world knows it.
