Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in Avengers: Endgame! Hmm, let’s take a breath before starting a shocking thing that could’ve been true. Joe Russo and Anthony Russo, the masters behind Infinity War and Endgame, have talked about some wild wishes raising fans’ excitement.
By now, the fate of Wolverine is concerned, it surely will end up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But, had the Disney/Fox merged had happened earlier, we could’ve seen Hugh Jackman aka Wolverine in Avengers: Endgame. The Russo Brothers open up about the same.
In a conversation with Comic Book Movie, Joe Russo revealed, “I mean, Wolverine was always one of my favourite characters. Incredible Hulk #181 was one of the first comic books that I remember collecting, which was the first appearance of Wolverine. Hugh Jackman has done an incredible job with that character over the years, and I think they should take a break for a little while before someone else takes a crack at it.”
Meanwhile, apart from Hugh Jackman and Wolverine, Anthony and Joe Russo also defended the use of CGI in the final battle of Avengers: Endgame. In an interaction with Fox 5, Joe Russo said, “You know, CGI makes things more efficient. So, we could make Infinity War and Endgame back-to-back. If we had to make those two movies in that way, they would have been four years apart, easily.”
Co-director Anthony Russo backed Joe’s statement. He said, “There is a big difference too because CG has certain strengths, right? Part of the reason why it works so well in Star Wars, in general, is that when you’re dealing with ships and creatures, non-human forms, and machines it does a little better,” He said. “When you’re dealing with the human form, you can see its weaknesses. The virtue of the characters in the Avengers films are that they’re not, you know… Captain America doesn’t fly a spaceship or a fighter jet. You know?”
