According to box office analyst Luiz Fernando‘s report, The Odyssey has surpassed Free Guy’s lifetime box office total in China. For the unversed, Ryan Reynolds starrer Free Guy collected $95 million in its lifetime to become the highest-grossing Hollywood non-sequel movie post-COVID. It will become Hollywood’s first non-sequel movie to cross the $100 million mark in China.
Besides Free Guy, the Matt Damon starrer has also surpassed the lifetime total of Venom: The Last Dance. For the record, Venom: The Last Dance collected $94.6 million at the Chinese box office. It is thus edging closer to entering the top 10 post-COVID Hollywood grossers list. The mythological epic is on track to earn between $5.5 million and $6 million in its 4th weekend in China.
