Yash Raj Films’ latest outing War featuring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff is roaring at the box office with mostly decent to positive reviews flowing in. The movie is a great bounce back for the production house as their last release Thugs Of Hindostan failed to live up to its hype and was a big debacle.
War opened with figures of 53.35 crores(inclusive of all languages) on Gandhi Jayanti and 51.60 crores in Hindi version alone. It surpassed Thugs Of Hindostan‘s 50.75 crores (52.25 crores– all languages) to become the highest opener of Bollywood. The movie also turned out to be 4th highest earner on opening day in India, which includes movies from other Indian film industries too apart from Bollywood.
After an unprecedented start of over 50 crores, the movie remained strong yesterday to earn 24.35 crores (23.10 crores in Hindi) and on it’s day 3 too i.e. today, the trends are superb, clearly indicating that it is being well received by masses. While the big holiday of 2nd October has proved to be a jackpot, the movie is surely on a roll as it is enjoying an extended weekend of 5 days.
If the movie manages to stay above 20 crores today, War is expected to show big jumps tomorrow and on Sunday. As of now, the movie is on its way to comfortably cross 150 crore mark in extended weekend.
Interestingly, Salman Khan’s Bharat collected 150.10 crores, which too enjoyed 5-day extended weekend. At this point, it seems like War will surely cross Salman Khan starrer in first weekend.
Now all eyes are set on how the movie juices up in its 5-day extended weekend and if manages to touch 150 crore mark. Anything further that will be huge bonus for the makers.
What do you think, how much War be able to earn in its extended weekend?
