War Box Office Day 2 Morning Occupancy: History has been created by Tiger Shroff and Hrithik Roshan’s actioner by collecting 53.35 crores (all languages) on its day 1. Getting lauded for its mammoth scale and mind-blowing stunts, Gandhi Jayanti holiday helped the collections to get a boost.
It clashed with Joker and Sye Raa Narashima Reddy but it seems War is creating a league of its own. Most of the shows were pre-booked and spot bookings too were very good. As a result, impressive footfalls brought in the highest ever day 1 beating Aamir Khan’s Thugs Of Hindostan’s 52.25 crores (all languages).
According to the reports, the morning occupancy on day 2 has seen a routine drop after an exhausting day 1. It has opened with the occupancy of 50-55% on day 2. This is still very good because it’s a working day today. Still, a big day 2 is on the cards and a lot will also depend on how the night shows will perform.
“War” is seemingly high on the budget as it has been shot across seven countries and 15 cities. Putting fans curiosity to rest, makers dropped a highly action-packed trailer last month. It featured an intense rivalry between Kabir (Hrithik) and his student (Tiger Shroff).
Hrithik is collaborating with Tiger for the first time in “War”. “I think I will miss working with him. It’s been an incredible experience working with him on this film,” he said. With Siddharth Anand in the director’s chair, “War” is bankrolled by Aditya Chopra under the Yash Raj Films banner. The film released on October 2.
Hrithik, who made his debut as lead actor in 2000, has essayed several powerful performances over the past two decades. Now, however, there is stiff competition from actors such as Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Varun Dhawan, Shahid Kapoor, Tiger Shroff, Ayushmann Khurrana and Vicky Kaushal. Asked Hrithik who he thinks is the man of the year in 2019, he replied: “We are in a creative field and I don’t think there is anyone best person. I feel there are many who deserve to be a man of the year. We should be proud that we have so many of us who are doing well.”
