Yash’s Toxic exceeded all expectations at the Indian box office on its opening day. Given the pre-sales response, the magnum opus was expected to score in the 80-90 crore net range, but, going a step further, it unleashed madness. Leaving everyone jaw-dropped, the film raked in over 100 crore net, and that too without the sequel factor. With this, it recorded the 2nd biggest opening for an A-rated Indian film. How much did Toxic earn at the Indian box office on day 1?

The period gangster action thriller saw a mind-blowing start, scoring 101.1 crore net (all languages) at the Indian box office on day 1, which equals 119.3 crore gross. Out of 101.1 crore, the biggest contribution came from the Hindi version, which amassed 55 crore. The Kannada version faced capacity issues, contributing a terrific 23.3 crore. Telugu version performed well, too, scoring 16 crore despite the strong run of Irumudi. Tamil scored 5.5 crore, followed by Malayalam’s 1.3 crore.

With such an epic start, Yash has created history as the only Indian actor to deliver two 100-crore net openers at the Indian box office. With Ramayana coming this Diwali, he’s looking forward to scoring his third 100 crore net opening.

Registers the 2nd biggest opening for an A-rated Indian film

With 101.1 crore, Toxic pulled off the 2nd biggest opening for an A-rated Indian film in India, surpassing Prabhas’ Salaar (90.7 crore). The list is topped by Dhurandhar 2 (145 crore). If we talk about standalone films, the Yash starrer tops the list.
