As expected, Nani has delivered his career-best opening at the Indian box office by a big margin with The Paradise. From pre-sales, it was clear that the film was going to have a blast on its day 1, and that’s exactly what happened. Despite negative reviews, it saw good walk-ins yesterday, which helped the film exceed expectations and register the 5th-biggest opening by an Indian film in 2026. Among A-rated Indian films, it posted the 7th-best opening.

How much did The Paradise earn at the Indian box office on day 1?

The Telugu crime thriller had terrific occupancy throughout the day, helping it amass a mind-blowing 46.25 crore net on day 1 at the Indian box office. This includes 11.6 crore net from premiere shows held on Wednesday. Excluding premiere shows, the first-day collections are 34.65 crore net. This is along the lines of our prediction report, which projected a net of 42-46 crore on the opening day (including premiere). It equals 54.58 crore gross.

With such numbers, The Paradise has clocked Nani’s career-best opening and his first-ever 30- and 40-crore opening. It surpassed Dasara (23.2 crore net) by a big margin.

With 46.25 crore, The Paradise scored the 7th-biggest opening for an A-rated Indian film of all time at the Indian box office. It surpassed Thalapathy Vijay’s Jana Nayagan (42.7 crore) to claim the 7th spot.
