The Odyssey was released in China almost a month after its global release on July 17. The Christopher Nolan epic had a strong start at the Chinese box office and is continuing to hold well. The Odyssey at the box office in China

The Odyssey is currently in its third week at the box office. Even with a lower screen count, the film earned $1 million on its 3rd Thursday. The film was screened in 21000 shows on the 3rd Thursday, with a 42.1% drop from its last Thursday at the box office. In just 21 days, the film has earned $92.9 million on a limited number of screens.

Set To Surpass Free Guy

On its fourth Saturday, The Odyssey will beat Venom: The Last Dance and Free Guy’s lifetime collections in China. While Venom earned $94.6 million, Free Guy eanrr $95 million. After The Odyssey beats both the films, it will become the highest-grossing Hollywood non-sequel post-COVID.

The Odyssey is also looking to become the first Hollywood non-sequel to cross the $100 million mark in China. The Free Guy was jst $5 million away from scoring a $100 million at the Chinese box office.
