How much Street Fighter must earn to beat 2026’s biggest video game adaptation in North America?
Street Fighter is tracking to earn $30 million to $40 million in its opening weekend at the domestic box office. The Jason Momoa starrer might have a strong domestic debut. Still, it will need an extraordinary run at the box office to beat the theatrical run of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. If things landed right, the movie might beat The Super Mario Galaxy Movie’s opening weekend collection in its lifetime.
However, Mortal Kombat II‘s $79.8 million domestic haul seems to be within reach. It could also cross $100 million and beat Resident Evil. Street Fighter might not beat The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, but it could outshine the other video game adaptations of the year.
