Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan Box Office Day 9 Early Trends: Ayushmann Khurrana before the release made it clear that the film is not serious and it would be incorrect to call it so. But most of the audience still decided to stay away from the bold topic the film is tackling. Week 1 of the film ended below expectations and it’s to be seen how well it holds in its week 2.

As per the early trends coming in, the film has collected in the range of 2.75 crores-3 crores on its day 9 at the box office. This will take its grand total somewhere in the range of 49.70-49.90 crores. The film should’ve hit the half-century by now but it’s still moving towards it.

The thing to note here is, it clashed with Taapsee Pannu’s Thappad which shares a similar set of audience with this film. It’ll be interesting to see how both the films co-exist on the weekdays.

Ayushmann had cleared the air saying that it will be incorrect to call the film a ‘serious’, ‘message film’ because it is not.

“‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan‘ is an out and out entertainer that also gives the right message. It will be incorrect to call this film a serious, message-oriented film. It is not. It is a hilarious film that’s also slapstick in parts to drive home the message of the film. It has its heart at the right place and it is not a serious film that delves any deeper,” Ayushmann said.

Ayushmann says he was instantly sold on Rai’s vision of making the film’s appeal wider by making it a funny movie.

He also said, “For me, I was sold with Aanand L. Rai sir and Hitesh’s (Kewalya) vision for this film because they wanted to make it a quintessential Bollywood movie and not approach this as a cause film.”
