Sandra Bullock’s Practical Magic 2 has entered its second week at the box office. After debuting at #1 rank on opening day at the domestic box office, the film quickly began to lose steam. The film has seen below-projected estimates. The film is currently treading the same path as its 1998 prequel, which was a commercial failure at the box office.

With the sequence, the hopes were high. Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman’s stardom was expected to bring in big numbers at the box office. The film was also expected to give Warner Bros its much-anticipated $100 million at the domestic box office in 2026. However, the major studio will have to wait longer.

Practical Magic 2 Enters 2nd Week

The film began its second week at the domestic box office, facing tough competition from the new arrival, Resident Evil. According to Luiz Fernando, the film lost all PLF (Premium Large Format) screens to the new horror entry. This led to Practical Magic 2 holding the #2 spot at the box office by grossing $3.3 million on Friday. This was a 74.8% drop for its opening day. The spooky comedy sequel has hit a $41.2 million cume at the domestic box office.

The film is now riding on Sandra Bullock‘s stardom and hoping to prevent a harsh drop from its opening weekend, especially after losing many screens. The comedy is likely to collect $11-12 million in its second weekend, a 60% drop from its opening weekend.

The film earned $13 million on Day 1, ranking at #1 at the domestic box office. In its opening weekend, the film collected $30 million in the USA, well below the expected $45 million. On its first Monday, the film collected $1.7 million, a 75% drop from its Sunday total.
