How much did Khalifa earn at the Indian box office in 2 days?
The Malayalam action thriller scored 2.3 crore on its first Friday, day 2. Compared to day 1’s 5.35 crore, it displayed a massive drop of 57%. Such a drop clearly shows that mixed word-of-mouth among audiences has begun to take a toll on the film. Also, the unanimously positive response to Bethlehem Kudumba Unit has created more trouble for Prithviraj Sukumaran’s film. Yash’s Toxic, which releases on August 26, will further hamper it.
Overall, Khalifa has earned 7.78 crore net at the Indian box office, which equals 9.18 crore gross. On the second day itself, over 500 shows were reduced due to the release of Bethlehem Kudumba Unit. So, the extended opening weekend is expected to remain below the 15 crore net mark.

2026 has been a disappointing year for Prithviraj Sukumaran and his fans. His first release of the year, I, Nobody, emerged as a big disaster at the Indian box office. Made on a budget of 40 crore, it scored only 8.71 crore net. Coming to his latest release, Khalifa, was reportedly made on a budget of 50 crore. In the first 2 days, it has recovered 15.56% of its budget. Since word-of-mouth is mixed, the film will fail to recover its entire budget. In fact, it might even struggle to reach 50% recovery. Hopefully, the actor will bounce back with his next film.
