With the arrival of several big releases on Independence Day, Kalki 2898 AD has gone down considerably and is on the verge of ending its theatrical run soon. Yesterday, it celebrated 50 days in theatres and gave a testament to the film’s mega success. Enjoying the last leg of its run, the magnum opus has gone above 1050 crores gross at the worldwide box office, but it will wrap up below Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan on the list of highest-grossing Indian films. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the dystopian epic saga was released in theatres on June 27. With positive reviews from critics and favorable word-of-mouth from the audience, it displayed strong legs for weeks. Throughout this journey, the magnum opus achieved several milestones and unleashed some exciting feats. Now, after spending seven successful weeks in theatres, it is on its way to bidding adieu.
As per the update for 49 days, Kalki 2898 AD raked in a total of a staggering 653.06 crores net at the Indian box office. Including taxes, the gross domestic collection stands at 770.61 crores. The film has ended its journey in the overseas market by amassing 283.88 crores gross. Combining domestic and overseas gross, the grand worldwide box office collection stands at 1054.49 crores gross.

With 1054.49 crores, Kalki 2898 AD is gracing the seventh spot on the list of highest-grossing Indian films at the worldwide box office. It had a chance of surpassing Pathaan (1060.43 crores gross), but that won’t happen now, as it needs 5.94 crores more. In the second phase of release, the film will comfortably cross Pathaan.
