Join UsIn its second week, Sajid Nadiadwala and Eros’ Housefull 3 brought in 23 crore. With this, the film now stands at 103.20 crores at the Box Office.
The film is neck to neck with Bol Bachchan already and would go past Golmaal 3 before its third weekend, hence turning out to be the third biggest comedy ever. It has to be seen though if it manages to cross the 116 crore lifetime total of Housefull 2.
For that it would have to score 13 crore more before the close of its run. However, with Udta Punjab occupying a good number of screens and also arriving with some good hype, at least adult audiences have another choice in their hands. It would be interesting to see the kind of distance the Sajid-Farhad directed film eventually covers.
That said, Akshay Kumar now has two top biggest grossers of 2016 (Airlift being the other) to his name, and that too across genres. Also, Riteish Deshmukh too is an integral member of two of the biggest comic grossers ever (Housefull 2 being the other), hence showcasing his dominance in this genre. Ditto for Abhishek Bachchan who again features in two of the biggest comic grossers ever (Bol Bachchan being the other).
This isn’t all as Sajid-Farhad are associated either as directors or writers for each of these five comedies. Unbelievable, and truly a remarkable feat indeed!
