Nayanthara has marked her fourth release of the year with the Tamil film Hi. The film also stars Kavin in the lead. It marks the first time the two actors have shared the screen. How Much Did Hi Earn At The Box Office On Day 1?
The new Tamil film earned 1.25 crore net in India on its opening day. This brings the film’s gross in India to 1.48 crore. The film opened with just 786 shows in India, which could be a reason for its low opening-day collection. The film also had only 33% occupancy on Day 1. The film was released in Tamil and Telugu languages. The Telugu version contributed 0.1 crore to the total net collection in India on Day 1.

Nayanthara’s Lowest Opening Of 2026
Hi marks Nayanthara’s fourth release of the year. It is also the lowest opening for her. She began the year with the superhit Telugu film Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu with Chiranjeevi. The film opened to a whopping 32.25 crore net in India. It also had paid previews a day before release, which totaled 9.35 crore. This brings the film’s total opening-day collection to 41.6 crore net. Hi’s opening-day collection is 97% lower than that of Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu.
After Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, Nayanthara had a special role in the Malayalam film Patriot, led by Mammootty. The film had a strong opening of 10 crore net, while her third release of the year, Toxic: A Fairytale For Grown-Ups, earned 101 crore. Hi’s opening day is 98.76% lower than Toxic. Both Toxic and Hi were released in theatres in the same week.

Directed by Vishnu Edavan, Hi stars Nayanthara and Kavin in the lead. The film also stars K Bhagyaraj, Prabhu, Radhika, Sathyan, Adithya Kathir, and Kureishi, among others. Hi is being jointly produced by Zee Studios South, The Rowdy Pictures, and Seven Screen Studios. The film, which boasts a strong technical team, will have music by Jen Martin and cinematography by Rajesh Shukla. Editing for the film will be by the capable Philomin Raj, and art direction by Shekhar B. Dances in the film will be choreographed by Brinda, while stunts will be performed by Dinesh Kasi.
