With the positive momentum of Bhooth Bangla and Welcome To The Jungle, Akshay Kumar was expected to deliver another success with Haiwaan, but it didn’t happen. Also starring Saif Ali Khan in a key role, the film was always going to be a slow starter, but it was expected to pick up pace with word of mouth. How much did Haiwaan earn at the worldwide box office in 3 days?
The Bollywood crime thriller opened with 4.54 crore globally, then dropped to 3.95 crore on day 2. On the first Sunday, it grossed just 2.93 crore, including India’s 2.18 crore and overseas’ 75 lakh. Overall, the film has grossed 8.67 crore in India and 2.75 crore overseas. Combining both, the 3-day worldwide box office collection stands at 11.42 crore gross.

With less than 12 crore coming in the first three days, Haiwaan has sealed its fate as a washout at the worldwide box office. From here, it is heading for a lifetime collection of less than 20 crore, which will be a huge embarrassment. Since it marked the reunion of Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan after Bhooth Bangla, it was expected to find some takers, but shockingly, it has faced an outright rejection from the audience. The makers will be hoping the film will see some life with the OTT release.

The crime thriller is directed by Priyadarshan. It is produced by Venkat K Narayana and Shailaja Desai Fenn under the banner of KVN Productions and Thespian Films. It also stars Boman Irani, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Saiyami Kher, Asrani, and Rajpal Yadav in key roles. The film features Mohanlal in a cameo appearance.
