Veteran singer Udit Narayan, who has lent his voice for some legendary tracks like Akshay Kumar-Raveena Tandon’s Tip Tip Barsa Pani, which is being recreated for Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi, is under police protection after he’s been receiving death threats for over a month.
Narayan had lodged a complaint at Amboli Police station stating that he had been receiving threats from an unknown number for over a month. The police is now patrolling near his house with tightened up security.
Bharat Gaikwad, senior police inspector of Amboli police station has revealed the same as, “The complaint was filed by the actor four days ago and since then we have increased patrolling near Udit’s residence.”
Moreover, the police station has transferred Udit Narayan’s case to the anti-extortion cell (AEC) of the Mumbai Crime Branch. After investigation, it has been found that the calls were being made from a stolen phone, and found the name of the caller as Laxman.
However, upon further research, the police found out that the number was registered in the name of the security guard of the playback singer’s own residence. The watchman upon interrogation revealed that his mobile was stolen a month ago while he was on the way to his hometown.
We hope things solve soon and Udit stays safe and in peace!
