It was earlier revealed that Sushant Singh Rajput and Sanjana Sanghi starrer Dil Bechara will bypass theatrical release and will directly hit OTT platforms. However, after the tragic demise of Sushant, his fans wanted producers to release the film directly in cinemas. For some time, it looked like the makers may opt for the theatrical release of the film but it didn’t happen.
It has been officially announced today that Dil Bechara will be directly coming on Disney Plus Hotstar and will be FREE for all the subscribers and non-subscribers. The film will start premiering for all the OTT platform from July 24, 2020.
Making the big announcement, Sanjana Sanghi who is making her Bollywood debut as a lead actress wrote, “A story of love, of hope, and of endless memories.

#DilBechara is going to be coming to everyone on @DisneyPlusHotstar on July 24. For the love of Sushant and his love for cinema, the movie will be available to all subscribers and non-subscribers.”
Earlier giving a tribute to Sushant Singh Rajput post his unfortunate demise, Sanjana Sanghi had posted a video on Instagram. In the video, she expressed how she feels shattered after Sushant’s demise. Along with the video, she wrote a long heartbreaking note and a part of it read as saying, “You gave me a forever, within a limited number of days, and for that I’m forever grateful. Our beloved novel, The Fault In Our Stars. A forever of learnings, and of memories. I refreshed my web pages a 100 times hoping I’m reading some sort of horrible joke. I’m not equipped to process any of this. I don’t think I ever will be. I’m definitely not equipped to articulate my feelings, this is me failing, but trying. We were to save all our anecdotes and stories from the time we spent shooting together up until the release of our film, so we kept them in our stomachs till now,”
Dil Bechara which is the official remake of Hollywood film The Fault In Our Stars also marks the directorial debut of casting director Mukesh Chhabra. The music of the film has been given by maestro A.R. Rahman.
