Filmmaker Subhash Ghai is all set to announce his next directorial venture on 24thOctober, which marks the 34th anniversary of his production banner, Mukta Arts. He has roped in ace music director Ismail Darbar and Salim-Suleiman to compose the music for the film along with Irshad Kamil as the lyricist.
Speaking about his association with Ismail Darbar, who hasn’t signed a film in the last four years, Ghai says, “The film industry might forget a talent if they don’t work for a while, but all it takes is one hit song. I want soulful music, and I feel Ismail can create that. I’ve also signed Salim-Sulaiman to bring in some contemporary style.” Ismail Darbar who has composed the award winning soundtracks for Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Devdas, will also be composing music after a long hiatus.
The yet-to-be-titled film is a romantic drama with a musical delight. Says Subhash Ghai, “It is the journey of a young woman from the mountains to a city, so the music must reflect the various phases in her life.” Subhash Ghai’s last directorial venture was the Salman – Katrina starrer “Yuvraaj” (2008).
