Controversies over hurt egos seem to be the order of the day in Bollywood. In such a situation, nothing is more refreshing than a straightforward apology. And the I Hate Luv Storys starlet, Sonam Kapoor has done just that. Sonam apologised to newspaper columnist Shobhaa De for forwarding a “derogatory” message from the IHLS director Punit D Malhotra, after De wrote a piece criticizing the said film.

Shobhaa De had not only panned Punit’s film, but also expressed her desire to spank Punit publicly. Punit had replied with a tweet, “Shobhaa De is a fossil going through menopause. She doesn’t get action…”

The 24-year-old Sonam wrote on her Twitter micro-blog on July 13, “Mrs (Shobhaa) De I owe you an apology for getting personal. I’m ashamed for my momentary lapse in judgement. And apologetic.. Every writer and journalist and audience are entitled to their opinion and I respect that.”

Sonam Kapoor’s next film, Aisha, where she plays a match-maker, is all set to release on August 6.
