Making a big move, Richa Chadha is all set to step her foot in the stand-up comedy zone. The actress will be making her stand-up debutant alongside several other Bollywood personalities including Taapsee Pannu and Vishal Dadlani on the upcoming Amazon Prime Original series, One Mic Stand.
Richa who has tried her hand at comedy previously with films like Fukrey, will however for the first time bringing her personal humor on stage. Talking about how debuting in the new arena is an experiment to Hindustan Times, Richa said, “I like to experiment and when this opportunity came along, I thought ‘let’s see how it goes down’. They said there’s a show where a celebrity will have to be mentored and it turned out to be a very challenging and fun experience.”
She bought out her funny bone even in the interview and spoke how she finds politician more funny and offending than any comedian using a cuss word.
She said, “During the last few years, I have seen a lot of people expressing themselves through comedy. I am more offended by some of the things that the politicians say. Someone just said that Pakistan and China are releasing toxic fumes leading to pollution in India. Politicians are giving such competition to stand-up comics. The stand-up comedians are coughing in anger and frustration ‘ki humari naukri mat lejaao yar’. Someone just said there is gold in cow dung.”
The trailer for One Mic Stand is out and the audience is already excited for the show to begin. On the film front, Richa will next be seen in Shakeela and Panga.
