Janhvi Kapoor, who made her debut with Karan Johar’s Dhadak, has an exciting lineup of films in the near future. She will be a part of Gunjan Saxena – The Kargil Girl, Dostana 2 and Roohi-Afza. But even before these films could hit the big screen, Janhvi is all set to mark her South Indian debut with Vijay Deverakonda starrer film which is tentatively titled as Fighter.
The film will be helmed by Puri Jagannadh and it is said that it was Karan Johar’s suggestion to rope in Janhvi Kapoor for the film. Karan Johar will be backing the Hindi version of the film and was very adamant that the Dhadak actress should be a part of the film. The makers are yet to make an official announcement about the same.
While these speculations have been doing rounds, a new development has been added around the project. It is said that Janhvi Kapoor is getting a whopping amount of Rs 3.5 crore as remuneration to feature in the film.
Well, it was not just Janhvi who was approached for the film. Alia Bhatt and Ananya Pandey are also said to be considered and approached for the film. Earlier, a source revealed to Deccan Chronicle, “Even actresses such as Alia Bhatt and Ananya Pandey were approached for the part, but things did not materialise. However, Karan Johar was instrumental in getting Janhvi Kapoor on board. The actress is still working her date diary, and in all probability, she might commence shooting in February.”
Not just a South debut but Janhvi is also looking forward to her digital debut. Her fans will get to see her in Ghost stories, the trailer of which is already winning the internet. She will be next seen in RoohiAfza alongside Rajkummar Rao. She will also feature in a biopic titled Gunjan Saxena – The Kargil Girl, Karan Johar’s Takht and Collin D’Cunha’s Dostana 2 starring Kartik Aaryan and Lakshya.
