Gone are the male-dominant times even in the Industry after our superwoman actress like Deepika Padukone, Taapsee Pannu, Kangana Ranaut, amongst others have taken over the B’Town throne. Following their legacy are the Gen Y actresses like Janhvi Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan & Ananya Panday who’ve recently made their foray into the Industry.
Here talking about the upcoming rising new-gen actresses in the Industry and their upcoming line ups:
With expectations to match up and comparison with mother and legendary actress, Sridevi, Janhvi with her debut movie, Dhadak, has clearly proved which she deserves a place in the Industry. From her innocence to the right sense of portrayal, this beauty has a long way to go.
Janhvi will be next seen in Karan Johar’s directorial Takht, and also has Dostana 2, RoohiAfza and Gunjan Saxena biopic in the lineup.
Sara Ali Khan
She came up with 2 movies in her debut year – Simmba & Kedarnath. While the former showed her quirky avatar, Kedarnath was the movie which assured her long run in Bollywood. She was critically acclaimed in both the movies, and her upcoming biggies – Aaj Kal, Coolie No. 1 shows how much filmmakers have already put their faith in her.
Ananya unlike the previous 2 actresses, is known for her sass. Student Of The Year 2 might have failed to impress viewers, but Ananya’s acting was hailed by the majority. The actress is currently shooting for Pati Patni Aur Woh and that will be a major deciding point of her career graph.
Meanwhile, we also have some actresses like Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar, Taapsee Pannu & Kriti Sanon who are the existing rising superstars.
The actress with her versatile roles starting from Student Of The Year to Highway and the latest Gully Boy, is almost a superstar. Even when you go ask the superstars from the industry about who they think is the future of Bollywood, every second star has Alia Bhatt as their answer, and why not? She’s proved herself beyond questions and how!
Alia will be next seen in Brahmastra and has Takht, Sadak 2 in the pipeline.
It’s time that Bhumi Pednekar gets her long due credit. Starting from Dum Laga Ke Haisha, the actress proved her terrific acting skills, and followed her path with other tremendous work with films like Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, Toilet – Ek Prem Katha and the latest, Sonchiriya, which marked one of her best performances.
Pednekar will be continuing her amazing work in upcoming projects like Saand Ki Aankh, Bhoot Part One: The Haunted Ship, Pati Patni Aur Woh, and Bala.
Taapsee has finally been appreciated the way she deserved after her remarkable performance in Manmarziyaan and her last, Badla. The actress’ honesty, hard work and passion has made her achieve this irreplaceable place in the Industry.
Taapsee has Mission Mangal, releasing tomorrow and Saand Ki Aankh, a movie with Anurag Kashyap post that.
Kriti’s innocence has won over the film-makers, co-stars as well the audiences. Although, she won hearts starting from her debut itself, Heropanti, she’s maintained the pace with performances in projects like Bareilly Ki Barfi and Lukka Chuppi.
Amongst all actresses mentioned here, Kriti has one of the most powerful lineups with multi-starrer films like Housefull 4 & Panipat.
She had our heart from her portrayal in Aashiqui 2 but somewhere went wrong with her script choices. However, she’s all set to be back with a bang with the upcoming Saaho which will showcase her in action sequences and so much more! Kapoor also has Baaghi 3 and Chhichhore coming up, both of which are movies highly expected to put the box office on fire!
Coming to the most important part here, we have Kangana Ranaut & Deepika Padukone – the queens who’ve conquered the throne and are holding their fort.
Need we say? Deepika has become not just the fans’ or critics but the industry’s favourite. With every new big movie’s announcement, DP’s name remains associated along with the credibility of the movie being a blockbuster. Padukone with her on-point choice of script has Chhapaak and ’83 coming up.
The world is on one side and on the other is this true diva – Kangana Ranaut. No, she doesn’t need a multi starrer movie to prove herself, or even a director for that matter. Kangana is good by herself and her career graph is the ultimate proof of it. After the latest released Judgementall Hai Kya which saw her exceptional work yet again, she has Panga, Dhakaad and Jayalalitha biopic ‘Thalaivi’ in the lineup.
Who amongst the all is your favourite?
