After a hiatus, Jackie Shroff would be seen in lead role for the film Cover Story. While the film has been pitched as an out and out drama, Jackie adds that what attracted him to Cover Story is the fact that for most part of the narrative, it is just him (playing a journalist) and Anjum Nayar (enacting the part of a superstar actress) who occupy the frame and that too in a single setting.
“It is almost like a play where you have two people talking to each other in a room. It has been so amazingly interesting for me to play a full-on performance part because as you would see in the film, the way story moves ahead it becomes all the more intriguing with every passing scenes”, says Shroff in an excited tone.
No wonder, he doesn’t fail to credit his director Laurence Postma who managed to make Cover Story a never before experienced affair for Jackie Shroff.
“He is a Dutch director and what I like about him is the way he has treated the entire premise. It isn’t easy to have your entire second half of the film dedicated on just two characters in a room. Still, he has managed to get it perfectly right”, he says.
Well, we would wait to see how the drama actually unfolds when the film plays in theatres.
