Not just America, but George Floyd killing has stirred anger and concern across the globe. Bollywood celebrities Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Disha Patani also shared their stand against racism on social media. But turns out many netizens are not happy with the two and have lashed out at them by calling both ‘hypocrites’.
While Disha and Priyanka Chopra Jonas in their post supported the #BlackLivesMatter initiative, what triggered netizens according to reactions is their ‘selective activism’. Disha Patani was bashed for promoting a fairness cream ‘that has set wrong standards of beauty’. Meanwhile, Priyanka was called out for being biased. People claim that the actor never talks about the problems in her own country.
Priyanka Chopra Jonas shared her note on Instagram but in no time it was shared by people on twitter. Sharing a screenshot of the same, a twitter user wrote, “Priyanka Chopra is the truest definition of NRIs saying BLM but not giving a shit about the numerous Kashmiris killed by the Indian forces.”
Another wrote, “Priyanka must be the most hypocrite actress ever. 1 Keep quiet about anti-Dalit atrocities in India but talks about racism in US 2. Plays minority & brown card in US but sells fairness cream in India, Hardly talks about colorism/castism in Bollywood”
As for Disha Patani, the actor shared a graphic image with hands of all shades signifying all colours are beautiful. A user calling her out wrote, “look at this who is saying, the hypocrite who is endorsing fairness cream for money now giving lectures all colours are same.”
Another taking a dig at Disha Patani wrote, “All colours are beautiful unless you are not fair. Then you need to change your skin color.”

Priyanka must be the most hypocrite actress ever.
1. Keep quiet about anti-Dalit atrocities in India but talks about racism in US
2. Plays minority & brown card in US but sells fairness cream in India, Hardly talks about colorism/castism in Bollywood https://t.co/xh0YAWpVCl

Priyanka Chopra is an epitome of opportunism and cowardice. In her recent Insta post, she appeals people to end race war in US and educate themselves on race issue. She says no one deserves to die because of their skin color. She stands in support of George Floyd's family. 1/5

If you're an Indian public personality speaking up against police brutality & racist bias in the US, why silent on Islamophobic bias of India's police in arrests, humiliation & killings of anti CAA protestors? @priyankachopra https://t.co/O6Ko0cleMD
