A couple of days ago, actor Aamir Khan met Turkish first lady Emine Erdogan while shooting Laal Singh Chaddha in the country. The actor received massive backlash when a picture of the meet was shared online. Now, BJP MP Subramanian Swamy has taken to Twitter to express his displeasure on it.

For those who are unaware, Turkey supported Pakistan on the Kashmir issue recently – the scrapping of Article 370. Indian netizens have accused the actor of siding with enemies of the country.

MP Subramanian Swamy said that in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the actor will have to be quarantined at a government hostel. His tweet read, “Under the COVID-19 Regulations, Aamir Khan has to be quarantined in a government hostel for two weeks upon return.”

According to a report by Republic, the politician took a jab at the actor and termed Turkey as ‘anti-India.’ He claimed Khan should have taken the Indian embassy with him while meeting Turkey’s First Lady.

Talking about Aamir Khan’s visit with Emine Erdogan, Kangana Ranaut said, “Hmmm this is definitely worrying on many levels, for India Aamir Khan isn’t just an actor he participates and involves himself with this nation on many levels, he is a very big icon, he is coming across as a hypocrite now he must explain his actions because many are hurt.”

Talking about why Aamir Khan was in Turkey to shoot for Laal Singh Chaddha, which also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Mona Singh, is an official adaptation of Tom Hanks’ Forrest Gump. It will reportedly hit the big screens on Christmas 2021.
