He said, “I never wanted to be a part of the film industry. That time it was a necessity for me to work and I got a job in this profession. I always had the feeling that I am not meant to be an actor. Not because I wasn’t a good actor but I lacked satisfaction. Now when I look back, I think working in all departments is helping me.”

Anees also worked under Raj Kapoor as an assistant director. Later he join hands with other filmmakers as a writer but shockingly wasn’t credited. He finally tasted success with Ajay Devgn’s Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha.

“I had written many scripts for which I was not credited. But what helped me was I enjoyed the audiences’ reaction and got confidence. Then, I started working as a writer in many films – Swarg, Gopi Kisan, Deewana Mastana, Aankhein and many other films. Initially, I had to struggle a lot but later my journey became a memorable one. If I hadn’t seen so many struggles, I wouldn’t have been able to make comedy films. I think comedy is hidden in tragedy,” he adds.
