The actor has paid for all the oxygen cylinders and portable ventilators for a field hospital in Dharavi but doesn’t want to make a buzz out of it. Scroll below to know about the stars secret contribution to curb the pandemic.
If reports are to go by, Ajay has contributed to the 200-bed COVID-19 dedicated field hospital built by BMC in 15 days. The donation has been made through his production house – Ajay Devgn Films Foundation. The reports also say that the actor has also provided 700 families in Dharavi with ration kits in the past few days.
The field hospital is built in the 4000 sqm ground amid Dharavi. It will be used to treat all the COVID-19 positive patients except the ones critical. However, Ajay Devgn has decided to not make a buzz about it and keep it under wraps.
Kiran Dighavkar, assistant municipal commissioner of G-North ward, according to a report in India Times gave the reason behind constructing the facility. He said that the increasing number of patients around the massive slum alarmed the authority to take the step.
According to Dighavkar, they approached Ajay Devgn with the needs for the hospital and the star agreed to help in no time. The centre will be monitored by four doctors, 20 attendants and 12 nurses working in shifts.
Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn’s contribution may be secret, but it is a huge and much-needed one. This step by the actor is sure to win many more hearts. On the work front, Ajay will be next seen in Maidan and Bhuj: Pride of India. The actor also has a film with Rakul Preet Singh and Sidharth Malhotra, tentatively titled Thank God.
