Aamir Khan has done it. Even though a few felt that his decision to postpone ‘Talaash‘ from June to November this year may turn out to be counterproductive, the new promo has managed to silence all the detractors. It has packed a solid punch and all eyes are now on how far the film would go after its release.
“When the first promo of ‘Talaash‘ was launched a few months back, the response was good, but also mixed. Many felt that the film gave absolutely no idea of what the story was all about. It seemed like a mishmash of too many things and while the brand value of Aamir would still have ensured that the film covers a good distance, the impact wasn’t as solid”, informs an insider.
It is apparent that Aamir took a note of that as well and while the film’s release was postponed to accommodate his series ‘Satyameva Jayate‘, it was also rumoured that the actor wanted more time to be spent on fine tuning ‘Talaash‘ as a product. Also, the whole marketing and promotional plan was revisited in order to make sure that ‘Talaash‘ arrived like an epic film, something which is expected from an Aamir starrer.
“Also, don’t forget that the film has Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukerji as well. Another issue with the first promo of ‘Talaash‘ was an apparent lack of visibility when it came to the leading ladies. However the new promo pretty much establishes their characterisation as well as relevance to the film’s plot”, a filmmaker adds.
Well, the strategy definitely seems to have worked since an out and out thrilling feel of the film coupled with a clear outline of the story being detailed (‘Talaash‘ is seemingly centred on some high profile accidents taking place at the same location with Aamir fighting his own inner demons as well) has only ended up raising curiosity about what it has to offer.
