As Bollywood has evolved over the decades, so have its ‘bad men’. In the years gone by, the stereotypical villain used to be a smuggler who masqueraded as a rich industrialist; or a rugged, unshaven and wild dacoit, but, today, he is a handsome hunk driving around in his cool SUV.
His intentions, however, remain the same – bad. Koimoi looks at the villains who made their presence felt in the year gone by:
Rohit Roy – Amit Shellar – Kaabil
This young wicked and unscrupulous Amit Shellar of Kaabil was one with style and swag. His cool cruel attitude was something that caught the attention of many and that too came across the screen effortlessly. And so the bad boy takes a spot in our list of nominations for best villain 2017.
Ronit Roy – Madhavrao Shellar – Kaabil
Ronit Roy played a well-known politician in Kaabil. A crooked, arrogant and thuggish political figure, Ronit was at his best, as always. He is one of the best villains of all time and deserves a place in our nominations for best Villain 2017, undoubtedly.
Narendra Jha – Musa Bhai – Raees
The menacing villain who proved his mettle with a meticulously scripted negative act as Musa Bhai in Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Raees definitely needs to be a part of this list.
Rana Daggubati – Bhalladev – Baahubali 2: The Conclusion
A villain, who looks better than a hero, has a chiselled body and oozes sex appeal like no other! Difficult to imagine but easier to accept as we had Rana Daggubati taking up the reins in Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.
Sajjad Delafrooz – Abu Usman – Tiger Zinda Hai
Termed as the new evil icon, Sajjad Delafrooz’s performance as a terrorist in this Salman Khan starrer Tiger Zinda Hai was appreciated. His suave villainy character was nothing less than a creative icing on the cake of similar flavours (Bollywood Villains). For his impressive acting skill, he takes a spot in our list of nominations for best villain 2017.
