Chamkila was one of the most influential Punjabi musicians of his time, who was born in Ludhiana in 1960. His first-ever recorded song, Tauke Te Takua, made him a sensational star overnight. Opinions on his music were generally divided. Fans called it a true commentary of Punjab, while opposers called it obscene. His band was one of the most popular bands, and he sang along with his wife, Amarjyot Kaur. Amar Singh Chamkila wrote his own songs, and the majority of his lyrics were suggestive and boyish, dealing with extramarital affairs, alcohol, and drug use.

Parineeti has been working hard to play Amarjyot to perfection. Have a look.
