Sanjay Leela Bhansali known for creating grandeur and flamboyant sets for his films, now his magic will venture into digital space, as the filmmaker has joined hands with the streaming giant, Netflix for a series titled, Heeramandi. The team has assembled a lineup of talented actors and the latest to join the bandwagon is, Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia.
The actress is one of the trending names in the television industry, as she is known for Choti Sarrdaarni, where she plays the character of Seher. The show gave her a massive fan following, she has even received love for her performance.
According to reports by SpotboyE, a source close to the production has hinted at the actress’s entry into the magnum opus series, “Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia is soon going to make her OTT debut as she has an interesting role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming web series, Heeramandi.”

Nor makers neither Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia have confirmed the news, but it would be interesting to see a telly star-making big on the digital platform like Netflix.
Heeramandi has been called Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s passion project, as the period also marks his 25 years in the entertainment industry. The larger-than-life show will follow the life of courtesans’ in Lahore, set during pre-independent India.
Meanwhile, Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia’s daily soap Choti Sarrdaarni is one of the successful shows on Colors TV, the fans are hooked to the show, not only for interesting characters but interesting plotline. A few months back the team celebrated the completion of 500 episodes.
During the first announcement of Heeramandi, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali said, “Heeramandi is an important milestone in my journey as a filmmaker. This is an epic, first-of-its-kind series based on the courtesans of Lahore. It is an ambitious, grand, and all-encompassing series; therefore I am nervous yet excited about making it. I am looking forward to my partnership with Netflix and bringing Heeramandi to audiences all over the world.”
Apart from Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia, actresses such as Sonakshi Sinha, Manisha Koirala, Richa Chadha, Rekha and Madhuri Dixit names are also making rounds but there aren’t any confirmations about the same.
