The New York Indian Film Festival was held virtually from 24 July to 2 August due to the pandemic of coronavirus. Actor Nivin Pauly has won the Best Actor award for Geetu Mohandas’ Moothon.
Moothon is a movie that features the journey of a 14 years old boy who decides to find his long lost elder brother and how his life changes when he moves to Mumbai from Lakshadweep. The movie beautifully showcased the struggles and predicaments of human emotions.
Moothon is written by Geetu Mohandas and Anurag Kashyap, who helped in writing the Hindi dialogues. Rajeev Ravi has done the cinematography of the film. Apart from Nivin Pauly, the movie also witnessed the powerful performances of Sobhita Dhulipala, Roshan Mathew, Shashank Arora, Harish Khanna, and Omkaar.

As per the report of The News Minute, Sanjana Dipu has won the award for Best Child Actor for her part in the movie. Moothon is undoubtedly an incredible film that also won an award for the Best Film category.
Apart from Mothoon, Geetha J’s Malayalam film Run Kalyani also became the talk of the town as the actor Garggi Ananthan bags the best actress award for the film. Achal Mishra won the Best Director Award for his movie Gamak Ghar.
