Kollywood superstar Kamal Haasan starrer Indian 2 has been in headlines for various reasons ever since its inception last year. It was only last week when reports about Indian 2 getting shelved did rounds on the Internet. However, the makers denied the reports, as they stated that the film will resume its shoot post lockdown.
Now early this week there was this strong buzz about Indian 2 releasing in two parts following its long duration. Reports have it that 60 percent of Kamal Haasan starrer has been wrapped, and they already have six-hour-long footage on the editing table.
In an interview to IndiaToday.in, a spokesperson from Indian 2 from Lyca production has quoted,” “For the past few days, there are a lot of rumours around the film, and we are quite upset about it. The film will not be released in two parts as widely speculated. The editing works are progressing at a brisk pace and hopefully, the shoot will resume post lockdown.”
The Kamal Hassan starrer has been in limelight for various not-so-good reasons like musical genius AR Rahman’s exit from the project. Following which young composer Anirudh Ravichander was roped in for musical works of Indian 2. The film was initially supposed to be bankrolled by producer Dil Raju, but following some unknown reasons he opted out from the project, and Lyca productions stepped in.
The Kamal Haasan starrer also headlined all across a couple of months back following a crane accident on sets of the film which claimed the lives of three technicians.
Indian 2 is a sequel to 1996 hit Tamil release Indian. The original had Kamal in dual roles of father and son. The film narrated the story of Vigilante Senapathy who roots out corruption from the system.
