Popular film choreographer Ganesh Acharya has once again stepped behind the camera as a director. But this time, his upcoming film tells a deeply personal story. The famed choreographer has decided to tell his own story on the big screen in his own way. The film promises to explore the lesser-known rags-to-riches story of a little boy who loved dancing and went on to become dance master Ganesh Acharya, a respected name in Bollywood.
On Sunday, the makers of Ganesh-Dust to Stardust shared the trailer of the upcoming film. The film begins before Ganesh Acharya’s birth. His father was also an ardent dance lover who excelled in classical dance forms. However, his circumstances did not allow him to develop his talents to their full potential. He decided that his son would become a popular dance master. The trailer offers a glimpse of Ganesh’s childhood and his love for dancing to the beats of the dhol. His mother suggests that he train in classical dance under his father. However, he refuses because he does not enjoy the dance form his father teaches him.
However, adversity strikes when little Ganesh loses his father. This pushes his family further into poverty. As a young teenager, Ganesh takes up odd jobs to make ends meet. However, he soon finds his calling in dance and joins his father’s dance class. He trains and grows in the field. We get a glimpse of the stellar choreography in the film, which will truly be a treat on the big screen.

The biggest highlight of the film is its choreography. The trailer teases some stellar sequences choreographed by Ganesh Acharya himself. After ABCD and ABCD 2, Bollywood will see a full-fledged dance film for the first time in a long time. We also do not have many films that focus on the real-life struggles of dance masters in the film industry. It will be interesting to observe Ganesh Acharya’s story from his own perspective.
The film also features promising young faces, including Shivanshu Soni, Alok Shaw, Sukanya Kalan, Sakshi Pawaskar, Jaywant Wadkar, Vidya Joshi, Neeshanth Sathiyanarayanan, Disha Pandya, Rudransh Pawar, Anjali Nair, Sanchi Daundkar, Ananya Tekawade, and Dinesh Hebbar. Soundarysha produces the film, with Digangana Suryavanshi and Ganesh Acharya handling the screenplay and dialogues. Sonu Nigam, Sunidhi Chauhan, Nakul Abhyankar, Savaniee Ravindrra, and Junaid Kumar have sung the songs in the film. The film will be released in theaters on December 11.
