Rating: 1.5/5 stars (One And Half  Stars)

Star cast: Akash Sagar Chopra, Tahira Kochchar, Arshad Warsi, Paresh Rawal, Raj Babbar, Shakti Kapoor, Riya Sen, Himani Shivpuri, Anuradha Singh, Tinu Anand, Sushmita Mukherjee, Navni Pariyal, Rakesh Bedi

Director: Amrit Sagar Chopra

What’s Good: There’s tonnes of cheesy romance!

What’s Bad:Tonnes of stupidity!

Loo break: No. Stay on your seat. Carry pillows, you can catch a comfortable nap!

Watch or Not?: Rabba Main Kya Karoon is stupid, banal film that challenges your judgment and intelligence. I suggest you don’t misunderstand it for entertainment because this is sheer brainless slapstick that takes pride in insulting the idea of loyalty in a relationship. Avoid it or you’ll need to spend your fortune away on a divorce lawyer and a marriage counselor very soon!

User Rating:

A young sweet lover boy is all set to be married to his childhood sweetheart. Been with each other from teddy bear to solitaire, their real problem begins when they are betrothed. An evil spawn whom lover boy considers his superhero enters their life and tutors him in lessons of having a perfect marriage which he postulates is impossible without cheating on your wife. What follows is a tussle between monogamy and polygamy, and like all good films this one too ends is triumph of love and one-woman man!

Rabba Main Kya Review: Script Analysis

There is a wafer thin idea for a script. Philosophies of how to cheat in a marriage is certainly excellent pedigree for a trash of a film. Surprisingly the writer has done an indigenous research on cheating, may be even has a PhD degree on how to epitomize male chauvinism and cheat on his spouse with neatness.

Expect references of Maharishi Tharka-charya who pioneered the idea of being disloyal to spouses. It is a futile movie in which the director hasn’t taken the pains to elucidate his intent. I assume he had none!

A gaggle of family members straight out of a vast Punjabi brethren gaggle in needlessly trying hard to amuse you but the melodrama in the climax fails you with an appalling quality! Such a scum of a film shouldn’t even be made lest be watched!

Rabba Main Kya Review: Star Performances

The lead actors Akash Chopra  and Tahira Kochchar are plain dull and unimpressive in their stone faced acting. They can’t act and should refrain from it. I wish I had a word of encouragement for the newbies but sadly I don’t. If it is any consolation they both look stunning!

Arshad Warsi, Paresh Rawal, Raj Babbar and even Shakti Kapoor from the supporting cast are uniquely great in their roles but they couldn’t save the movie’s soul. Arshad Warsi however has a meatier role in the film and is genuine in parts, but overall he seems a little too overconfident in a role that is dicey.

Rabba Main Kya Review: Direction, Screenplay and Music

Amrit Sagar has sewn together a bunch of random not-funny scenes in an incoherent screenplay. The gags have been done to death and there is absolutely nothing going for the film. It is not even an average comedy which is sad given actors like Paresh Rawal and Arshad Warsi who have been wasted with dramatic confidence. The film’s climax is sheer crass, editing is shabby and music is very mediocre with no song having any shelf life.

Rabba Main Kya Review: The Last Word

Rabba Main Kya Karoon is aptly titled as it echoes the sentiments of those who might end up watching it. I wonder what were the filmmaker trying to make. Because this film neither entertains nor amuses and is unabashed in its ridiculousness. I am going with a generous 1.5/5. Be loyal to yourself and spare yourself the horrifying-face of relationships this film tries to bring out.
