With the news of Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin remake getting official yesterday, it was confirmed that Emraan Hashmi has been finalized to play the role of Aamir Khan in the film. Following the magnanimous success of Bhushan Kumar and Vishesh Films’ Aashiqui 2, it was decided to take their success forward by making the 90s popular film DHKMN which was directed by Mahesh Bhatt.

Now, there are two important contenders for the role that was essayed by Pooja Bhatt in the original film. The lead actress of Aashiqui 2 Shraddha Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are both running the race for this film’s lead role.

Since the original film was directed by Mahesh Bhatt, Alia has an obvious advantage at bagging the role. But, Shraddha’s mentor Bhushan Kumar is staunchly rooting for her. Currently elaborate creative talks are on between Bhushan Kumar and the Bhatts while they decide on who will be the film’s heroine – Alia or Shraddha.
