With just a few days remaining for WWE Wrestlemania 36, we are getting floored with several interesting insights into the main event. The latest one is regarding the one on one contest between The Undertaker and AJ Styles. We have learnt that not the phenom but earlier, AJ was supposed to fight against Randy Orton, on the big stage.
According to the reporter, Tom Colohue, The Undertaker’s return wasn’t planned for Wrestlemania 36 as AJ was engaged in a feud with Randy Orton, earlier this year. But due to some reasons, the storyline was dropped and RKO’s focus was shifted to Rated R Superstar, Edge.
With no enemies left to take on and considering the demand for AJ’s in-ring action, the company decided to slate a match for the star and here’s when the deadman entered into the picture. He informed WWE that he is available for the big event and eventually the match was booked.
Wrestlemania 36 to take place on 4th and 5th April.
Meanwhile, WWE Hall of Famer Edge will be featuring in his first singles match in nine years when he takes the ring to face Randy Orton in a Last Man Standing match at WrestleMania 36. The professional wrestling company’s marquee event will, however, be significantly different this time as it will be played before an empty stadium in Orlando due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Edge said that it is important now more than ever to have events like WrestleMania which can provide a temporary distraction from the problems being faced by people around the world.
