Originally starring Steve Martin and John Candy, the buddy road film is all set to get a remake. The remake is said to be an update to the original classic. Although John Hughes directorial wasn’t a box office record-breaker, it eventually gained popularity upon its home media release.

The report in Variety states, both Will Smith and Kevin Hart will be co-producing and starring in the remake of Planes, Trains and Automobiles. It will be written by Brooklyn 99 fame Aeysha Carr. Although the news seems exciting, netizens aren’t much happy about the remake.

One Twitter user wrote, “I fu*king hate this. Like it’s not even funny anymore. When will you learn Kevin Hart does not make your movie better. He’s the worst part in all of his casts. Planes Trains and Automobiles is amazing, must not be touched or ruined.” “No. Please, no. Just make it stop,” another user wrote.

“As talented as Will Smith and @KevinHart4real are, this project needs to be stopped. They can’t capture the same magic that @SteveMartinToGo and John Candy brought us,” as written by a user named Stephen Charles.
