Christian Bale is worldwide known for his portrayal as The Batman. However, the actor has been a part of many renowned films like American Pyscho, The Prestige and Little Women amongst others. But one film that garnered him an Oscar nomination was Vice. The film directed by Adam McKay witnessed him in the shoes of Dick Cheney.
For the unversed, Dick Cheney served as the US President from the year 2001 to 2009. Christian played the lead in the comedy-drama that released in December 2018. The viewers were impressed and Bale was also nominated for ‘Best Actor In A Leading Role’ at the Oscars 2019. However, it was the former US VP who himself wasn’t very pleased.
Christian Bale himself revealed about the ill experience he had in 2019. In a conversation with Yahoo Entertainment, our Batman revealed how it was through his son’s school that Dick Cheney reached out to him.
When asked if Dick ever watched ‘Vice’, Christian Bale shared, “I don’t know if he ever did. I’m not sure if he ever did. He did pass along a message to me. It was strangely enough through my son’s school. One of the moms, she was at a party he was at. She said, ‘Oh, I’m going to be seeing Christian tomorrow. Do you have anything to say to him?’ And he said, ‘Tell him he’s a d*ck.’”
While most think, that could have been a smart joke on his name, that clearly wasn’t the case! Our Batman himself clarified the same as, “I thought, oh at least he’s got a sense of humour And [the mom] said, ‘No there was no humour to that whatsoever.’”
