Selena Gomez is an inspiration for many. Time and again, the beauty comes up with something that turns heads like never before. Her song ‘Boyfriend’ is a reality check for many who think they ‘need’ a boyfriend. Similarly, she recently announced that her cosmetic line, Rare Beauty, will be raising $100 million for mental health awareness.
The Rare singer has dealt with many ups and downs in 28 years. She has been diagnosed with lupus, bipolar disorder. Selena has also been battling depression for a long time now. Her relationships, including the controversial time with Justin Bieber, has ended up having a massive impact on her life.
Koimoi got into an exclusive conversation with Selena Gomez recently. We asked her how her definition of love has changed over the years. The Ice Cream singer had another inspiring response and it won our hearts.
Selena Gomez said, “I’ve dealt with my share of relationships and ups and downs which has changed my perception on self-love. Till you don’t love yourself, you’ll either bring others down or feel unloved and accept all criticism coming your way.”
The pop sensation had been in an on and off relationship with Justin Bieber from 2010-2018. She also dated The Weeknd for a brief period in 2017.
Meanwhile, Selena recently collaborated with Blackpink for ‘Ice Cream.’ The song is a chartbuster and has already crossed 197 million views on YouTube.
Asked about her collaboration, Gomez shared, “The experience has been amazing! Shooting this entirely virtually was a whole new experience but we all had loads of fun doing it. The BlackPink team is very cool and their music is great. The Korean music industry too is very warm and welcoming, so the experience of working with them was super. We’re so glad to see that fans are enjoying the music as much as we did creating it for them. It just crossed 190M views which is crazy!”
