Post Malone, the American singer, and songwriter expressed his opinions on the mandatory rule of wearing masks. Wearing masks is very important nowadays due to the global pandemic, if not absolutely necessary.

Malone also said that he was astonished at the high fines people had to pay for not wearing masks. If you don’t know, cities in California have fines ranging in hundreds of dollars for mask non-compliance.

While talking on the ‘Joe Rogan Experience’, Post Malone said that he believes that everyone should be wearing masks for safety. At the same time, he said that no one should be forced to do so.

The ‘Better Now’ singer said, “It’s like me in school having to tuck in my shirt or else you get detention. It’s weird to be forced to wear something.”

When Joe Rogan said that wearing masks does make a difference in stopping the virus from spreading, Malone said, “At the end of the day, it all comes down to respect for other people. It’s not a government thing. You shouldn’t be forced to wear a mask — but you should. And that’s because I respect you as a fellow human.”

Back in May 2020, Post Malone’s lifestyle brand Shaboink donated 40,000 N95 masks. According to reports, Shaboink partnered with the humanitarian aid organization Direct Relief to donate masks to frontline workers in the medical field.

Post Malone’s last tour, the Runaway Tour, ended in Denver on 12 March 2020. His upcoming tours were cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
