Gwen Stefani continued, “I was like, ‘I think we should just cancel the trip.’ It was one of those. Then we got it together and we ended up going. [Our family] was all there.”
Talking about the proposal, Stefani said, “We’re building a house there. We were going to go from one part of the land to the other part of the land to go to see the house.” Gwen added, “And meanwhile, Blake had this ring for a couple of weeks and nobody knew.” The singer revealed her father had an idea because on her birthday, Blake Shelton had shown the ring to him
Talking about the actual proposal, Gwen Stefani recalled that Shelton got down on his knees to start a fire in the fireplace and asked her to look in the cabinet for the fire starter. When she did so, she saw the ring in a box and screamed. She said “I was like ‘What, are you serious!’”
Adding, “Then everybody came running around ’cause they heard us screaming and crying and so there was no video.” While there weren’t any videos, her sister-in-law did snap the moment, making it memorable.
