Following their extravaganza mark, the Russo Brothers have yet again collaborated with Netflix after Extraction. The duo is set to make the most expensive film ever made on the platform with Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans. Titled The Gray Man, it is set on a budget of $200 Million, and below are all the deets.
Yes, you read that right, the Avengers fame brothers Joe and Anthony Russo have roped in Ryan Gosling and their beloved Captain America, Chris Evans. The Gray Man is based on a novel that features a freelance assassin and ex CIA Operatives.
If the report in Deadline is to go by, The Gray Man is said to be a franchise starter. This will also mark Russo Brothers’ comeback to the director’s chair after their 2019 worldwide blockbuster Avengers: Endgame. The script of the film is been written by Joe Russo and will be polished by Christopher Marcus and Stephen McFeely.
Said to be an adaptation, The Gray Man will star Chris Evans and Ryan Gosling as Court Gentry and Lloyd Hansen respectively. Both were former CIA operative.
Talking about The Gray Man, Anthony Russo said, “The movie is a real mano a mano between those two great actors who represent two different versions of the CIA, in what it can be, and what it can do. For those who were fans of Captain America: Winter Soldier, this is us moving into that territory in more of a real-world setting. That’s what this movie really means for us.”
Talking about the details of The film, Joe Russo said, “The intention is for it to be competitive with any theatrical, and the ability to do with Gosling and Evans is a dream for us. The idea is to create a franchise and build out a whole universe, with Ryan at the center of it. We have all committed to the first movie, and that’s got to be great to get us to the second movie. These are master assassins, and Gosling’s characters gets burned by the CIA and Evans’ character has to hunt him down.”
