The year’s first spectacular film, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, is performing extremely well at the box office. The film that saw the biggest opening of this year can be matched with other big openers of last year like Salman Khan’s Dabangg 2. The film which on its first day earned 19.45 crores has managed to maintain its stable growth on its second day as well. The film’s collections from across the country cumulatively reached a total of 20.16 crores on Saturday. The film’s total collections at the domestic box office now stands at 39.61 crores in two days.
With the film winning laurels for being the correct blend of realism and gloss, the film has its heart in the right place. The early collections has been satisfactory so far. The film with its strong advanced booking rate will ensure that the collections do not dwindle. The lead pair Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone are blowing away people with their brilliant chemistry and that happens to be the film’s strong point for its audiences. Aiming at the 100 crore club, the film has beat the opening day collections of the year’s previous 100 crore film Race 2 and is now eyeing to surpass its opening weekend collections too. Race 2 that made 51.35 crores in its opening weekend, is now up for facing some robust competition from YJHD at the domestic box office.
