Box Office - Tenet stays low but fair in the second weekend
Box Office : Christopher Nolan’s Tenet Stays Low But Fair In The Second Weekend

Though the numbers garnered by Tenet aren’t anything great so far, there is at least some sort of footfall being evidenced. In the same weekend when Indoo Ki Jawani struggled to cross even the 1 crore mark, Tenet has managed to go past 2.5 crores* and that too in the second weekend. This means there is at least some section of audience that is willing to step into theatres as long as there is something interesting.

The film is around the 9 crores* mark currently and while 10 crores mark should be crossed by end of the second week, by and large the numbers would still be sub-optimal for a majorly hype affair that didn’t have to spend much on marketing in India and still was known by the target audience. Had the lifetime promised to be at least 25 crores, it would have been an altogether different ballgame.

Now it still cannot be deciphered with utmost confidence that numbers are still staying on to be low only because people at large still want to be at home, or whether the content is playing truant here. For that it would boil down to at least a reasonably hyped Hindi film with some star or superstar power to boast of to release in theatres. In fact if Coolie No. 1 manages to arrive at least at the single screens on 25th December, that would be a sort of acid test on display.

*Estimates. Final numbers awaited
