Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior Box Office: Despite competition from Deepika Padukone’s Chhapaak, this Ajay Devgn, Kajol & Saif Ali Khan starrer has started its box office run at a fantastic note. While the trade analysts expected this period drama to open in the range of 10-12 crores, that’s not even close to its whopping start.
Although not at the same level, one expected Chhapaak to create some kind of difficulties for Tanhaji. However, the movie has clearly turned out to be dominant and the first choice of the audiences. As per the early trends flowing in, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior has raked in massive numbers of 15-16 crores in its collections, which is way beyond the expectations.
Now with the initiation of the weekend, these numbers are only expected to rise beyond, and the graph for the next two days hopefully will only see an upward trend.
Ajay Devgn, whose Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior hit the screens on Friday, also took to Twitter on the same day to comment on the violence at the Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) in Delhi that happened earlier this month.
At least 20 students were admitted to All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) with severe injuries, including the Students Union President Aishe Ghosh, who was reportedly hit over the eye with an iron rod.
“I have always maintained that we should wait for proper facts to emerge. I appeal to everyone – let us further the spirit of peace and brotherhood, not derail it either consciously or carelessly #JNUViolence,” Ajay tweeted.
Ajay’s tweet received mixed responses from netizens.
